SELF-service

i was feeling really lazy today and didnt attend service. so i had my own service at home, reading the bible in my room.

continuing the book of Hebrews,
"For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith." Hebrews 4:2

"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must account for." Hebrews 4:12-13

Indeed, God's word is the light and the truth (:

rainy cosy day

today when i woke up, the sky was cloudy and it looks like it was going to rain. but since it is a saturday, i decided to sleep in a little while more. the cold wind (aircon, haha!) plus the cosy blankets = perfect!! it would be nice if this applies on the weekdays! (:

today was spiritually filled, by attending hebrews bible study. it really feels good to be back to the pressence of God. and understand that... man fails, but God doesnt fail.

Nichole: "Our Secrets to a Happy Marriage"

Think play, not romance.
Forget flowers, dinner and candles, and instead play a video game, have a water-gun battle or play in a photo booth (or with Photobooth if you have a Mac!).

Embrace imperfection.
Accept that you're both going to make mistakes, and if the mistake was not intentionally hurtful, let it go. Adjust your expectations and align them with reality (dirty towels on the floor, pre-menstrual hormone insanity), not fantasy (a pristine house, a perpetually perky disposition).

Reinvigorate the Old.
Life's grind sometimes whittles away the parts of us that are carefree, inspired, focused or fun. One of the best things you can do for your spouse is to defend the parts of them that you married them for. And that doesn't mean saying "You used to be so..." It means reminding them that they ARE those things; they're not gone, even on their most beaten down days.

Discover the New.
Embark on unplanned adventures. Often.

-- Nichole, Little Brown Pen

i quite like the part where she wrote about embracing imperfections. at some point in time, i would think that two person of different world cant get togther or anything. its like personalities crash or something? but it might change until we really learn how to give in.

Hydrating

One of those things i like to do is to look out of the bus windows in the earliest morning and spot the beautiful sky though cramming with sardines of people. so far, working can be really boring and all, but it is really nice to have colleagues that are funny, moan together with me and gossip the slightest thing.

mac asked one thing, what do we really look forward to? we got answers like going back to school, lunchbreak, afterwork etc etc. and he asked what if we are really in the working force? we will look forward to RETIREMENT.

the weekends!

as usual, looking forward to fridays and weekends (:
